For some reason Ram/Stalantis/FCA whoever really botched the 5th generation Ram in the A/C department… It’s fine when you are cruising at highway speeds or its not that hot. But when you are heat soaked in a parking lot or putting around town, things dont get as cold. Our Pacifica will freeze you out idling in the driveway when its 95f+, this is what we want.

Lucky for us, there is a simple “hack” meet Muzzy’s A/C Hack.

Simple ball valve with some tubing and clamps
The install is pretty simple, remove the line that runs to the heater code, add a ball valve and you can open or close how much hot coolant you want to enter the heater core.
Ideally you wouldn’t need something like this to get ice cold A/C but at least there is an option that doesn’t involve arguing with a dealership around some service bulletins.
The after results show around 8 degrees cooler than before, and I have read some people seeing 15. I suspect on the highway things will get frosty!

I’ll keep this post updated as and if anything goes south I’ll make sure to share. As of now, it was worth the $22.
